Why I started this.

Hi, I’m Meelis.

We live in a world that often tells us we are powerless. We look at the scale of suffering—especially for animals waiting in cold shelters, hoping for a second chance that might never come—and we think, "What can I possibly do? I’m just one person."

The One Euro Journey was born from a refusal to accept that helplessness.

I asked myself a simple, terrifying question: What if the problem isn't that people don't care? What if the problem is that they don't trust?

So, I decided to build something different. No polished charity theater. No guilt trips. No hiding behind corporate curtains. Just one person, starting from zero, trying to rally a community of one million people to donate just €1 each.

This is a public experiment in kindness. Every euro raised, every cost paid, and every shelter supported is documented in real-time.

I am doing this to prove that when we strip away the secrecy and invite people to be part of the journey, trust returns. And when trust returns, we can move mountains for the creatures who need us most.

They say one person can't change the world. I say they just haven't met the right million people yet.
