1. Introduction

Welcome to The One Euro Journey (“Website”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Website and your purchase of a digital product called a Producer Credit.

By accessing the Website or purchasing a Producer Credit, you agree to these Terms.

2. Nature of the Project

The One Euro Journey is a transparency-first media project and social experiment operated by OEJ OÜ. It is built around radical transparency and public reporting of project economics.

2.1 Not a Charity / Legal Framing

OEJ OÜ is a for-profit private limited company registered in Estonia.

Key point
By participating, you acknowledge that you are purchasing a digital product (a “Producer Credit”) from OEJ OÜ. You are not making a direct charitable donation to a non-profit organization via this purchase, and your payment is generally not tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.

2.2 The Product (Producer Credit)

For €1.00, you receive:

Producer Credit: a unique Producer record (e.g., “Producer #4,502”) in our system.
Digital Access: access to transparency-related pages and updates (where available).
Governance Participation (where active): eligibility to take part in shelter nomination/voting rounds linked to project milestones.

Important:

Purchasing a Producer Credit does not grant any ownership, equity, profit share, or financial rights in OEJ OÜ.
Voting is not a guarantee of funding. Votes and nominations are subject to eligibility rules, legal constraints, and verification.
Final safety/eligibility veto: OEJ OÜ may exclude or replace a nominee if it cannot be verified or cannot legally receive funds, and will publish a brief explanation where appropriate.

2.3 Higher Amounts (If Offered)

If the checkout offers higher amounts (e.g., €2, €5, €10), those amounts are treated as purchasing multiple Producer Credits (one Producer Credit per €1), unless the checkout explicitly states otherwise.

To keep governance fair, OEJ OÜ may apply “one person, one vote” mechanics in community polls (for example: one vote per verified email per poll), even if you purchased multiple Producer Credits.

3. “Honest Economics” Framework (Radical Transparency)

We operate under a policy of radical transparency. By using this service, you acknowledge and agree to the distribution model described below.

3.1 Allocation of Funds

Your payment contributes to the project economy of OEJ OÜ. We allocate funds as follows:

25% Pledge (Impact Allocation): OEJ OÜ commits to allocate 25% of gross sales revenue for transfers to registered animal welfare organizations, released according to milestones (Section 3.2).
75% Operations (Project & Company Costs): the remaining portion supports the project and company operations (including payment processing, hosting, security, legal/accounting, content/marketing, and taxes/compliance).

Definition (to avoid confusion)
For this framework, “gross sales revenue” means sales before operating expenses and payment processing fees, and excludes VAT that must be remitted to tax authorities (where VAT applies).

3.2 Milestone Impact Model

Impact transfers under the 25% Pledge are released when defined revenue milestones are reached (examples: €1,000; €10,000; €100,000). The milestone schedule is published on the Website and may evolve over time.

If a milestone is not reached, the impact allocation accumulates until a milestone is met.
Material changes to milestones or allocation logic will be logged publicly before taking effect.
If the project ceases operations, OEJ OÜ intends to transfer any accrued impact allocation to eligible organizations before dissolution, to the extent permitted by law and practical constraints.

4. Payments, VAT, and Refunds

4.1 Pricing

The price of one Producer Credit is €1.00 (EUR). Any applicable taxes (including VAT) will be shown at checkout.

4.2 VAT / Location-Based Tax Rules

Depending on your location and applicable law, VAT may apply to digital services. Where required, OEJ OÜ may collect and remit VAT (including via EU mechanisms such as the One Stop Shop scheme for EU consumers).

We do not promise that VAT will “never apply.” Instead, we promise this: if VAT applies, it is handled legally and shown transparently at checkout and in reporting.

4.3 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely via third-party payment providers (e.g., Stripe and other providers shown at checkout). OEJ OÜ does not store your full payment card details.

4.4 No Right of Withdrawal (Digital Content)

IMPORTANT FOR EU CONSUMERS
By completing your purchase, you expressly request immediate performance of the digital service (creation/activation of your Producer record and access to digital content, where applicable) and acknowledge that you may lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once the purchase is completed, to the extent permitted by EU consumer law.

Sales are generally final. Refunds may be issued where mandatory under applicable law or in cases of proven technical error (for example: duplicate charging).

5. Transparency, Ledger & User Conduct

5.1 Transparency Displays Are Informational

Dashboards, counters, and public reporting are provided for informational purposes and may include delays due to banking settlement, manual verification, caching, or reconciliation. OEJ OÜ’s official accounting records take precedence in case of discrepancies.

5.2 Public Ledger Update Frequency

The public ledger is a manually maintained record. We aim to update it at least once per week, and also after major milestones. Some items (especially bank transfers) may appear later due to verification and reconciliation.

We publish numbers in aggregate to protect privacy while maintaining accountability.

5.3 User Conduct

You agree not to misuse the Website, including attempting to interfere with its operation, submitting fraudulent information, manipulating votes, or engaging in abusive behavior toward OEJ OÜ or other users.

6. Public Recognition (“Wall of Producers”)

If you choose to provide a display name for your Producer Credit, you grant OEJ OÜ a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display that name on public pages such as a “Wall of Producers” or similar listings.

If you choose “Anonymous,” we will display “Anonymous Producer” (or similar). OEJ OÜ may remove or modify display names that are unlawful, offensive, misleading, or infringe third-party rights.

7. Intellectual Property

All Website content (including text, design, logos, videos, and the “One Euro Journey” brand) is the intellectual property of OEJ OÜ or its licensors. You may not use our branding or content for commercial purposes without prior written consent, except where permitted by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Estonian law:

The Website is provided “as is” and “as available”.
OEJ OÜ is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Website or purchase of the Producer Credit.
We do not guarantee that the project will reach any particular goal or milestone.

9. Governing Law & Consumer Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. If a dispute arises, the parties will attempt to resolve it amicably. If not resolved, disputes shall be submitted to Harju County Court in Tallinn, Estonia, unless mandatory consumer protection rules require otherwise.

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may also have the right to contact an out-of-court dispute resolution body in your country. In Estonia, consumer disputes can be submitted to the Consumer Disputes Committee (TTJA).

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes may be communicated by a notice on the Website and/or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the Website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
