1. Introduction
This Donation Policy (“Policy”) explains how payments are collected, processed, allocated, and disclosed on oneeurojourney.com (the “Website”).
The Website is operated by OEJ OÜ, an Estonian private limited company, as part of a public, radically transparent social experiment known as The One Euro Journey.
Payments made on this Website are treated as a purchase of a digital product (“Producer Credit”) from OEJ OÜ. They are not direct charitable donations to a non-profit organization.
By making a payment through this Website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Policy and our Terms & Conditions.
2. About The One Euro Journey
The One Euro Journey is not a traditional charity. It is a proof-first, transparency-driven media project that publicly documents revenue, costs, milestones, and impact transfers to animal welfare organizations.
- Participation typically starts with a small payment (commonly €1).
- Revenue, costs, and milestones are publicly reported (where legally and ethically appropriate).
- Impact is delivered via milestone-based transfers to eligible animal welfare organizations.
3. Nature of Payments
Payments made on oneeurojourney.com are:
- Voluntary (you choose to participate).
- Non-recurring by default (unless you explicitly choose a recurring option, where available).
- Not investments, deposits, equity contributions, or loans.
Purchasing a Producer Credit does not grant ownership, equity, profit share, or financial returns in OEJ OÜ.
No paid voting rights: Purchasing a Producer Credit does not grant voting rights as a paid entitlement. OEJ OÜ may run optional community polls or feedback rounds, but these are not guaranteed and may change or be discontinued.
4. Use and Allocation of Funds
Funds raised through Producer Credit purchases are allocated according to the project’s publicly stated model:
- 25% Pledge: 25% of gross revenue is allocated for transfers to registered animal welfare organizations, released at milestones.
- 75% Operations: the remaining 75% supports the project’s operations, including: hosting, tools, platform/payment fees, legal/accounting, taxes, marketing/distribution, content production, founder compensation, and sustainability.
The allocation model may be shown visually via dashboards or reports for transparency.
5. Milestone Impact Transfers
Impact transfers to animal welfare organizations are made only when predefined funding milestones are reached.
- Milestones are publicly announced (where possible).
- Transfer amounts are based on fixed percentages of gross revenue (the 25% Pledge).
- Only legally registered and reputable animal welfare organizations are eligible.
- Proof of transfers (receipts, confirmations, acknowledgements) may be shared publicly where legally and ethically appropriate.
Milestone selection processes may evolve over time, but purchasing a Producer Credit does not guarantee any governance or voting access.
6. Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely via third-party payment processors (including Stripe and other providers shown at checkout). OEJ OÜ does not store your full payment card details on its servers.
Payment processors may process personal data in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable laws.
7. Refund Policy
7.1 General rule
Purchases are generally non-refundable because the Producer Credit is a digital product delivered immediately. Refunds may still be required in certain cases under applicable law.
7.2 Exceptional refunds
Refunds may be considered in exceptional circumstances, such as:
- Duplicate charges due to a technical error
- Unauthorized transactions proven to be fraudulent
- Clear payment processing mistakes
Refund requests should be submitted within 14 days of the transaction date.
7.3 How to request a refund
Email: info@oneeurojourney.com
Include: transaction date, amount, payment method, and the reason for the request.
Refund decisions may be subject to payment processor rules and verification of the issue.
8. Taxes & Deductibility
Payments made through oneeurojourney.com are not guaranteed to be tax-deductible. In many cases, they are not tax-deductible because they are a purchase of a digital product from a for-profit company.
Tax treatment depends on your country of residence and local law. OEJ OÜ does not provide tax advice.
9. Transparency & Public Disclosure
As part of the project’s core philosophy:
- Aggregate revenue and allocation information may be displayed publicly.
- Milestone progress and impact transfers may be reported openly.
- Selected anonymized transaction information (e.g., amounts, timestamps) may be shown for transparency.
- Personal data is not sold or shared for commercial purposes.
10. Data Protection & Privacy
Personal data related to transactions is processed in accordance with the GDPR and the Website’s Privacy Policy. Data is collected only for legitimate purposes such as:
- Processing payments and delivering Producer Credit status
- Fraud prevention and security
- Legal compliance and accounting
- Transparency reporting (where applicable and appropriate)
For full details, please refer to the Privacy Policy available on the Website.
11. Right to Modify This Policy
OEJ OÜ reserves the right to update or modify this Policy at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon publication. Continued use of the Website or continued purchases after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
