Official Policy

Official Shelter Nomination Rules

The goal is simple: ensure every euro creates real, verifiable impact for animals in legitimate, ethical care. Because we operate with radical transparency, we use strict eligibility rules and a verification process before any milestone transfer is made.

Core principle: We do not send funds to personal bank accounts or to entities we cannot verify.

Scope: Nominations are currently accepted for eligible animal welfare organizations based in the European Union (EU).

1) Basic Eligibility

The “Must-Haves”

To be nominated for a milestone impact transfer, an organization must meet all of the following:

  • Legal status: Registered Non-Profit Organization (NPO), NGO, or Charity in its country of operation.
  • Location: Based in the European Union (EU).
  • Focus: Animal welfare, rescue, rehabilitation, or sanctuary as a core mission.
  • Digital presence: Verifiable website and/or active social media showing documented work.
  • Banking: An official organizational bank account (IBAN). Personal accounts are not accepted.

If any must-have cannot be confirmed, the nomination will not proceed to the final shortlist.

2) Disqualifications

The “Hard No” List

We reserve the right to reject any nomination that falls into the following categories:

  • Private individuals: Example: “My neighbor feeds cats.” Valuable work, but not eligible for business-to-organization transfers.
  • Political or religious groups: Funds must go strictly to animal welfare, not ideology.
  • Breeders: Any organization involved in commercial breeding.
  • Opaque operations: If we cannot verify registration details, leadership, or basic legitimacy signals.

OEJ OÜ may request additional documentation when needed to protect participants and ensure compliance.

3) Verification Process

How the Vetting Works

We respect the community voice, but we verify eligibility before any money moves. The process is designed to keep transfers safe, legal, and publicly provable.

  1. Nomination: The community submits potential shelters/organizations.
  2. Eligibility check: OEJ verifies registration, presence, and basic reputation signals for shortlisted nominees.
  3. Selection: OEJ selects the final eligible recipient(s) for the milestone from the verified shortlist. If a community poll is run, it is advisory and does not create a paid voting right.
  4. Transfer & proof: Funds are transferred and proof (receipt/confirmation) is published publicly where legally and ethically appropriate.
Final safeguard: If a nominee is found to be ineligible or ethically problematic at any stage, OEJ OÜ will remove it from consideration and choose another verified option.
