The Goal: To ensure every Euro donated creates real impact for animals in legitimate, ethical care.
Because we operate with radical transparency, we adhere to strict eligibility criteria. We do not donate to personal bank accounts or to entities without verified information.
1. Basic Eligibility (The “Must-Haves”)
To be nominated for a milestone donation, an organization must meet all of the following criteria:
- Legal Status: Must be a registered Non-Profit Organization (NPO), NGO, or Charity in their country of operation.
- Location: Currently accepting nominations for shelters based in the European Union (EU).
- Focus: Core mission must be animal welfare, rescue, rehabilitation, or sanctuary.
- Digital Presence: Must have a verifiable online presence (Website or active Social Media) where their work is documented.
- Banking: Must possess an official organizational bank account (IBAN). We cannot send funds to personal accounts.
2. The “Hard No” List (Disqualifications)
We reserve the right to reject any nomination that falls into these categories:
- ❌ Private Individuals: (e.g., “My neighbor feeds cats.”) We love them, but we cannot legally fund them as a business entity.
- ❌ Political or Religious Groups: Funds must go strictly to animal welfare, not ideology.
- ❌ Breeders: Organizations involved in commercial breeding.
- ❌ Opaque Operations: If we cannot verify the registration number or the leadership team.
3. The Vetting Process (How It Works)
We respect the community vote, but we verify the winner before any money changes hands.
- Nomination: Community submits potential shelters.
- Internal Vetting: The OEJ Team checks the registration number and reputation of top nominees.
- Community Vote: Validated nominees go up for a public vote.
- Transfer & Proof: Funds are transferred, and the receipt is posted publicly on our site.
